MINERALS EMERY AND OTHER ABRASIVES Is a very hard rock type used to make abrasive powder. It largely consists of the mineral corundum (aluminium oxide), mixed with other species such as the iron-bearing spinels hercynite and magnetite and also rutile (titania).
